This program was formerly called B A Visual Arts (Interior Design). With the introduction of 4 year UG program, the program has been renamed with appropriate modifications to teach interior architecture so that the graduates of this program will be able to create interior architecture which is aligned to the exterior architecture.
This is an undergraduate program which leads you into a career where creativity is the key. The external building or the structure that an architect create is like the body of a person. The soul is created by your internal self and this is the best analogy between Interior Design and buildings. The person will work with materials, sculpture, paining, and a number of advanced software such as 3D Max and rendering software which gives 3 dimensional view of what s/he creates. It is an exciting world where you will shine as a very special person who gives meaning to the inside of houses, buildings, companies, hospitals, govt. buildings, religious buildings, offices and even parliament and other such buildings. It is an exciting world of creativity.

Program Structure: Six semesters which may be revised to 8.
Specialization: B.Sc psychology
Internship: An internship is mandatory for the psychology students of Vagamon.
Interior design. Though the content of the course helps you to take up several creative works such as creative publishing, graphic arts, photo and photo editing, films and so on, the focus is on interior design.
Most students become consultants. They create their own portfolio of their work and this helps them to get assignments. Some join architecture firms to support the architects with interior design and then make their own path. You can also take up jobs such as retail merchandizer where you design display of products, production designer including cinematic set designer, floral designer, graphic designer, lighting consultant, kitchen and bath designer, associate designer, art consultant, and so on. You can also get a job in animation companies who make animation films, cartoons and games. You can also make a name by moving into highly specialized areas such as sculpting and painting. Landscape architect, space consultant, and exhibition designer are other career options.
M.A/M.Sc in interior design, MFA (Master of Fine Arts), Master of Interior Architecture, graduate diploma in any of the specializations related to careers mentioned above and other masters mentioned above can be pursued abroad also.
The person should have a creative mindset and be good at drawing. S/he should also have the acumen to learn design-related software. S/he should have a disciplined approach to converting the creative potential to value addition for high-value customers. Proficiency in communicating the value of the design to high-net-worth customers can help.
The B.A Visual Arts (Interior Design) course enjoys many privileges mentioned under the residential program. One uniqueness that Vagamon enjoys that others do not is the sprawling campus that initiates creativity and innovation in painting, outstanding studios unmatched, an adequate opportunity to learn by doing under some of the top sculpting and painting masters of India and the ability to network with architects because of the co-location with B.Arch of Vagamon. May courses will be taught to you by architecture faculty and areas such as management and branding by MBA faculty. It is a place where creativity flourishes day and night in a liberal professional environment which no other institute in Kerala can provide.
Should complete your Class XII successfully. Demonstration of academic competency in Class XII will be highly helpful.
